I am an RN with the VON Cape Breton branch and this is me and my 2 oldest: Daisy and Lilla enjoying our ski trip in New Hampshire this week!

We love being out on the ski hill every-weekend back home and enjoy all winter activities. Also I am wearing my “comfy mama” brand I created a few years ago that brings awareness to mental health for moms while also donating back to Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation every year!

I am a registered nurse. For the past 25 years I have worked as a post op surgical nurse at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. In July of last year, I decided to make a change and slow my work pace down, as I head towards retirement. I currently work at Bay Side Home, in Barrington, and do the “odd shift” at Veterans Place in Yarmouth.

On my days off I enjoy going snowshoeing (weather permitting 😉), with my friends Denise & Karla, at our local golf Course … River Hills, which is located in Clyde River, NS.

On this particular day, they were not able to join me. However, while I was out there, I took a break to enjoy the tranquility. When I looked down, I noticed this spider, by my snowshoe. Apparently, it too was enjoying the beautiful winter we have been having as well 😊

I love going snowmobiling and back to our camp in the winter. The fresh air snowmobiling and coziness at the camp are the perfect way to relax.

My name is Alexandra Szeto and I work in the Research and Innovation Department in Eastern Zone for Nova Scotia Health.

My family and I love to go on winter hikes around Cape Breton Island with our dogs, Peggy Sue and Ellie Mae. This is a photo of my daughter Clara and I out for a hike this winter! 

I love spending the winters at the rink on Saturday mornings with my son, watching him play hockey. Gaining not only new skills but confidence and new friends! 

My winter fun is building a snow fort with my grandson. So much fun to get fresh air and laughter!

Love being outdoors & doing something physical, fresh air & moving my body keeps me young to continue with my 30 years plus of full time nursing.
