Labour Day is coming up on Monday, September 2nd, which gives us a great opportunity to join together and celebrate the labour movement in Nova Scotia. Bring your families out to enjoy a great day of food, music and fun, and show support for our united labour force in Nova Scotia.

Bridgewater
11:30 am – 1:30 pm
Shipyards Landing, 210 King St.

Hosted by the South Shore Labour Council, this Labour Day event will include a BBQ, children’s activities and music.

Halifax
11 am – 3 pm
Victoria Park & Halifax Commons

The Halifax-Dartmouth & District Labour Council invites you to attend their Labour Day March, Rally, Free BBQ Picnic & Community Concert in Halifax.

11:00 am: rally at Victoria Park, march to arrive at Halifax Commons for noon

12:00 pm: BBQ and entertainment at Halifax Commons, corner of Trollope and Bell Road. 

NOTE: this is a slightly different location than previous years, it is by the football field directly across the street from Citadel High.

Kentville
11 am – 2 pm
Kentville Memorial Park on Park St

The Annapolis Valley Labour Council is hosting a Labour Day Picnic. The event will have live music, bounce kingdom, face-painting, and a BBQ. If you are in the Valley be sure to join them for their celebration!

Sydney
12 pm – 2 pm
Open Hearth Park (North Pond)

The Cape Breton District Labour Council will be hosting the annual Labour Day Picnic, including a BBQ, kid’s games, and entertainment!

Yarmouth
11 am – 2 pm
Frost Park, Main St. Yarmouth

The Yarmouth Labour Day event is organized by the South West Labour Group, including a BBQ, speakers, and children’s entertainment.
